Bikram Continued

I really need to update this blog more often! I did end up completing the 7 days of Bikram yoga and it felt amazing! I ended up going for a couple more weeks after that initial start up but them started traveling internationally and have not had the chance to go back. Funny that what seemed so difficult to do in the beginning is now something I crave. I actually miss being in that hot room..sweating profusely, as I try to get my body in poses I was not sure it was meant to do. There was such a great sense of accomplishment and connection with my spirit after I completed a class. Nothing else mattered when I was in that room for 90 minutes and that felt great! I think we all need to take some time to disconnect from everything...even if we can only find 5 minutes. That is a start.

Taking on Bikram was just another example that anything worth doing can be difficult in the beginning. Most of our bodies (and minds) don't like change but nothing will change unless you commit to doing something different.

What are you committed to?

Day 2 of Bikram

Tonight was day 2 of my commitment to 30 days of Bikram yoga. Actually, I'm committed to 7 days straight and then down to 5 days a week for 30 days.

Today I did NOT want to go! I was up at 5:00am and taught a 6:30am cycle class followed by a very busy day of meetings and coaching. The only time I could take class was tonight at 8pm. So after a quick call to a friend for motivation, I got in my car and headed over. To my complete surprise it was not as difficult as I thought it would be and I was able hit poses I was unable to do yesterday. I am tired but feel really good and like I really accomplished something.

I am sharing this with you because I want you to know that I do practice what I preach. I want my body to change a bit therefore I am doing something different. It's not always easy but it's worth it. I also want to remind you that it is when we push ourselves that we surprise ourselves. When we think we are unable to go a little further or push ourselves any harder there is always a little bit more to give and THAT is when magic happens.

I'm writing for FINE Magazine!

I am very excited to announce that I will be a regular contributor to FINE Magazine! FINE Magazine is a high-end lifestyle and home magazine based out of San Diego. Last month I had the pleasure of going to the incredible Hacienda Cerritos in Mexico. This boutique hotel was like no other with views as far as the eye can see from every room, an incredible staff and lavish rooms. This was a place I did not want to leave! We shot some amazing video footage that you can see on the FINE Magazine website. Check out the hotel as well as my "Inspired Living" article on page 28 by clicking here.

No one in the world was ever you before, with your particular gifts and abilities and possibilities. It's a shame to waste those by doing what someone else has done. - Joseph Campbell

I  definitely consider myself to be an optimistic person, you know, the "glass is half full" kind of gal. Yet, there is a BIG difference between being optimistic and being certain. I can choose to be optimistic about my life path and hope that it will come to be as I have dreamed and envisioned or I can be certain and committed to make it happen. Do you see the difference?

Hope will only get you so far...you must at some point move from optimism to certainty. Knowing without a doubt where you are headed and where you want to be in all aspects of your life. In this great age of information, it is important to not only gather the information you then MUST put it into dedicated action.

There is a great light within all of us; no one else in the world has your particular gift and abilities. However, only you can decide if and when you will truly shine and that takes commitment.

Take a moment and watch the interview I did with James Rick on the Full Potential Show, "5 Steps Towards Doing What  You Love" at http://vimeo.com/17844846

Get Happy!!

Learn to enjoy every minute of your life. Be happy now!
Don't wait for something outside of yourself to make you happy in the future.

 - Earl Nightingale

This has to be one of my favorite quotes! Many of us keep waiting for something to happen until we can be happy but the truth is, happiness is a decision. We can decide to be happy, regardless of out circumstances and we will attract more happiness. Live your life "as if" you already have and are all the things you desire and watch what happens next. Living a happy life is a great way to live!

What Women Want

I recently was asked, "What is important to a women, what do they look for in guys?"

Such a good question and one that I actually have been thinking about lately. When it comes to looks, I know such is based on a woman's preference but there are definitely some fundamental things we all look for such as integrity, strength of will, great compansionship, and passion. The role of the man and women has seemed to change quite a bit over the last decade. Women are becoming more masculine and doing more than ever before and men are struggling to figure out what it is that women need and want while adjusting to the role change.

If you have not done so already, both "Wild at Heart" and "Captivating" are great books that dive into the basic needs and wants of men and women. Although the life roles of men and women continue to morph, I believe the core of men and women never really change.

A woman wants a man that will go to the end of the earth for her. She wants a "MAN" that will slay dragons and fight wars for her. She wants a man that will love and support her, that marvels in her beauty, femiminity and strength. In return, this woman will support her man like no other. She will allow him to conquer the world and will support  him through the fight. She will put her faith and trust in him.  I know this may sound old school but at the end of the day that is what holds a relationship together. Money, looks, status...all of those things can come and go....what really is important is trusting eachother with the most important thing you own...your heart.
