Happy Holidays! With the snow layered across the Pacific Northwest it definitely feels like Christmas time. I wish all of you a joyous Christmas season and a wonderful New Year! It is easy to get wrapped up in the hussle and bussle of it all but I encourage you to take a moment and reach out to your friends and family. Take a moment to look at what you have been blessed with and set new goals for yourself in 2009. For me, I definitely want to play more golf (or atleast get better at it) and I want to catch up with friends I have lost touch with over the years. I am onto a new phase in my life and although that can be scary I am excited about where that might take me.
For all my Golfnow fans, I am sad to see the show end after 500 webisodes. Thank you for all your kind words and for watching. I will miss you! Hopefully there will be another "Highway 18." Keep emailing the Golf Channel. :) Of course they could not end the show without making sure you got to see the best bloopers of 2008....what I get myself into. lol Enjoy!

One month to live?
Last week I decided to attend the new 6pm Sunday service at my church. It was just me, opening myself up for the message God was ready to give me, He certainly did deliver.
The message was "One Month to Live." We are all called upon to live our lives with passion and to use what God has given us to the best of our ability. I see myself as a woman who does live her life with passion but like all of us, there are times in life where I can lose it for a while.
I can not stop thinking of that message and what I would do differently with my life if I only had one month to live...ok, I would quite my job and spend everyday with my family and friends. But, what if I only had a year to live? I would change things....wouldn't you?
How many of us live a life of complacency....what are you passionate about and what are you doing with that passion? I truly believe that the passion we have in us is a gift and not to use it is such an injustice to ourselves and the world.
I have made the decision to re-evaluate my life and to make sure I am using the passion and talent I have been blessed with to forge ahead.
We will all die at one point, we never know when that may be, so challenge yourself to live your life like your dying....with PASSION!

Keri Murphy at the National Golf League/Sweet Spot Golf
Hello all,
On Saturday I took a quick trip to Sacramento to witness the 3rd annual NGL competition. If you have not heard of the NGL yet I would venture to say you will soon. Bob Abube, who also represents the LPGA golfers known as the "The Wilhelmina 7" started the NGL a few years back in an effort to make the game more entertaining to watch and I think he has done a great job of that. In addition to a tournament there was also a brewfest taking place which brought in 35 breweries and a few great winerys as well. I would say approx. 1500 attended the event that day and everyone seemed to be having a great time.
My time at the event was spent primarily in a booth with the great guys of "Sweet Spot Golf." Not only did I have the chance to promote some very high performance and fashion forward clubs (which I love) but I made some great new friends as well. I had such a blast meeting fans of The Golf Channel's, "Hwy 18" and Golfnow.com! I was on such a high at the end of the day. I was running out to catch my plane just as I was signing my last autograph for the day. I loved meeting all of you that came out...thank you!

Note to self...
Do not drink a grande quad americano at 5:30 pm unless you feel like pulling an all nighter like you did back in college. Seriously, what was I thinking? Not really sure why I felt the urge to order that americano while heading home from a beautiful weekend in San Diego, it is not like I had a long to-do list when I got home but I did and certainly paid the price today. I was up until 3:30am last night (obsessed with my new blog) and just got home from my day at 9pm tonight. Needless to say, I am a little tired.
It it so hard for me to believe that summer is coming to an end....aren't summers supposed to be relaxed and full of vacations and laying out by a pool? I have yet to experience the "dog days" of summer. Hmmm...I guess that just means I will have to plan a great vacation as the Portland weather turns from sunny to grey. However I must say, there is nothing like the fall in the Pacific NW. If you have not seen it you should definitely put it on your to do list.
Moving on....Did you watch Hwy 18 last night? I am dying to know what you thought. Tension is certainly building that's for sure. The next four shows are going to be really great! It is so fun for me to watch each week because it is like I am re-living it all over again. We did so much in 13 days that after a while they all started to blur together. I remember the tension on the course that day when Raul called Peach out about touching his line. You seriously could have cut it with a knife! Charlotte and Rob were disappointed they could not play in the match-play event but felt pretty fortunate that BOTH times they came in last they lucked out and did not receive a strike...that is some serious luck! You can watch my video blog later this week on the Golf Channel for more juicy behind the scenes information.

Keri Murphy's new personal blog
Hello everyone,
Welcome to my blog!
I thought it would be fun to start a blog to share what is going in my world. Everyone else seems to have things to say about me so heck, why not? I thought I would start with sharing a little bit about me.
I was born in Hollywood, Florida...have often worked in Hollywood, CA. and my office is currently in the Hollywood District....hmmm, is that a sign?
I own Wilhelmina-MTG, a full-service modeling & talent agency and an actors on-camera training studio named, The Lime Lab, in Portland, Oregon. I am the spokesperson/webhost for www.golfnow.com and I am hosting a show on the Golf Channel called "Hwy 18." Needless to say, I am a very busy woman who feels extremely blessed to live the life that I do.
I believe in living life to the fullest! I am a big thinker and an even bigger dreamer. I try not to let negative situations get me down for long as I find them a huge waste of my time. I am usually going about a 100 miles an hour and was once told by a therapist that, "I keep myself so busy in order to avoid past hurts." I have to say I disagree and therefore am no longer in treatment. :) I have been this way since childhood and have so many different interest. If there is one thing I wish money could buy it would be time, as I seem to never have enough.
I must say, I feel very fortunate to not only be able to help other people see their dreams come to fruition but after putting my own aspirations on the shelf to run a business, I too am living out my childhood dream of hosting a television show as well. Who wudda thought?! I am really hoping there is a season 2!
I have been involved in the entertainment industry since the age of 11. Growing up I was like any other young girl who dreams of seeing herself grace the covers of fashion magazines and runways. It was quite the harsh reality when I realized becoming a fashion model was NOT in the deck of cards for me. But since that age, my desire to be involved in the entertainment industry never changed. It has been a bumpy road (to say the least) and over the years I have to say I have learned so much about not only the business but about myself. This business makes you look deeper than the headshot most people see...it makes you ask the question "Why am I doing this?" If you can say because you can't imagine doing anything else with your life then this is the business for you. If you can't say that, perhaps you should look into something a little more stable...like accounting.
I do love the fact that I now get to share with others what I have learned and experienced over the years. How many times do you say to yourself, " If I only knew back then what I know now!"
There is a joy that comes from helping others not make the same mistakes.
Keri is a what-you-see-is-what-you-get kinda girl. I am a bit silly, passionate about life and helping others, am often distracted by my over-whelming to-do list, absolutely adore my family and friends, and honestly believe that if you can think it and believe it... you can do it! A little Pollyanna you might say but like everyone, I have had more than my share of tough times too. If you have seen my bloopers I think you can get a true sense of my personality. Yes, while at work I try to be a bit more professional however, I never take myself too seriously.
I started listening to the audio book, "The Power of Now." It is a great reminder that every day is what you make it and that our thoughts control so much of our success. Learn from your past but don't live there, and set goals for the future but don't lose site of what is in front of you today.
Well, that is it for now. I will be updating this blog often so check back soon.
Until then...keep smiling!
