A day of thanks...

It is difficult to express the sheer gratitude and love I have for my friends and family. Because of you, I am able to live with sheer abandon doing what I love most. I appreciate and love you more than you will ever know!

It has been quite the year...I know many of us continue to struggle and go through life's many challenges.

On this Thanksgiving, I encourage you to really look inside yourself and take time to recognize all the blessings in your life.  Remember, there are people without homes...there are people without families...and worst of all, there are people that have given up on themselves.

This holiday season I encourage you to make it a point to reach out to others. Be joyful for the things you DO have...for I am joyful for you!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Love,
Keri

Don't let your light fade

"At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us." - Albert Schweitzer

  I love this...SHINE ON!

Beach shoot

Last Friday I had so much fun shooting with Brian Guerrero. Nia Hicks whom I worked with on "That Morning Show" did my hair and make up. Two amazingly talented people. These photos are unedited but will give you an idea of what we captured that day.

Shine ON!

The Plan

I have to admit sometimes it is difficult to know why certain things happen. A good friend of mine recently sent me this passage and I had to share it with you. Sometimes the plan we have for our lives is not the plan at all. It is hard to understand why we go through many of the challenges we go through. However, I do have faith and know that the plan will be revealed. The things that do not make sense now will someday be another great chapter in the book. I can not wait to share my message with the world. To help and inspire others...to BELIEVE that all things are possible!

For I know well the plans I have in mind for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare not for woe! Plans to give you a future full of hope. When you call me, when you go to pray to me, I will listen to you. When you look for me, you will find me. Yes, when you seek me with all your heart, you will find me with you, says the Lord.  (Jer: 29:11-14, NAB)

Don't settle

If you are not willing to risk the unusual, you will have to settle for the ordinary. - Jim Rohn

I really like this quote for today. I think it is easy for many of us to get stuck in the rut of complacency. The only way to get new results out of life is to change what your doing. No one wants to live an “ordinary” life…we all want extraordinary lives...and they SHOULD be!

What can you do different today? It does not have to be a big change, perhaps it is a simple change in your thinking.

Shine on!

New Logo

My awesome friend Chris Brereton designed my new logo today. I am SO excited! He got it spot on the very first try. Way to go Chris!!

Idealist.org

I am a member of the organization "Idealist.org".  We believe great things can happen when people come together with a common goal or passion. There are so many problems in the world in which we live. I think most people want to make a difference but do not know where to begin. There is quite often in large gap between our intentions and our actions. I took this excerpt from their website, so many of us have great intentions but do not act on them....what if we did?

1. The gap between our intentions and our actions

Every day many of us would like to respond in some way to what's happening around us, but for a variety of reasons we don't. We may feel, rightly or wrongly, that we have no time, no resources, no power, or no impact (why bother, it won't make a difference anyway). We may not know where to start, what to do, or who to work with. We may be afraid of failure, ridicule, meetings and committees, wasting our time, getting depressed…

This list could go on, but the point is that this challenge—or opportunity—is huge. Imagine, to use a very pessimistic average, that most people feel the urge to fix something or help someone at least once a month, and don’t act on that impulse. With close to seven billion people on Earth this comes to 200 million missed opportunities every day, and probably many more.

This gap between intention and action applies not only to individuals, but also to organizations of every kind. Many cities, schools, businesses, museums, and hospitals, to name just a few, would be willing to participate in a local initiative or help a similar organization in another country, but for their own set of reasons—including the simplest one, that no one has asked them—they often do not.

I hope you will check out their website and join in...we really can make a difference!

Shine on!

Today's quote

"Good things rarely happen to those who don't believe that good things can happen.  You have faith in the future & that's part of what creates a future worth having faith in"

One of my "wonder-twin" friends sent this to me yesterday and I absolutely loved it! I had to share it with you. We have all either read or have heard about "The Secret" and the importance of thinking positive, which I believe with all my heart. However, there is something magical that happens when you have faith. It is the knowing of the unknown…stepping out and believing.

We all go through hard times and I have definitely had my share of difficult times through out my life. I am often congratulated on my resilience and positive outlook, which I appreciate very much, but I honestly don't think I could make it through half the junk I have if it was not for FAITH!

Faith that I am here for a reason, Faith in His plan, Faith that I will rise above, Faith that I will make a positive impact on the world in which I live. Faith that the people who know me, know better.

A future without FAITH is not an option for me....it is me.

Shine on!

Today's inspirational quote

Everyday I try to find a new inspirational quote that has to do with how I am feeling or what I am experiencing that day. I post it on my Facebook page in hopes to inspire others as well. Today I chose:

"In order for the light to shine so brightly, the darkness must be present." - Francis Bacon

I believe in the darkest of times a person's true light is exposed. Those lit from within will shine with out trying. They will find a way out of the darkness because it is impossible for them to stay there long. Their light will not distinguish.

Others will search...they will use the darkness in order to do harm to themselves or others. They will feed on it and allow their appetite for destruction to suppress any light that may be trying to come through.

Let your light shine...be a beacon! You will not have to worry about finding your way out of the thick darkness that surrounds you, for your light that shines SO bright internally will reveal the path.

Shine on.
